This applet illustrates the convergence of a point estimator over many trials. Click on the "One Trial" button a number of times to see the early estimates. Then click on the "100 Trials" button to observe the convergence to the true population value indicated by the dotted blue line. The applet stops at 1000 trials. Use the "Reset" button to clear the display and try a new sequence.
Try Different Probabilities
The applet below functions the same as the one above with the additional capability of selecting the true probability value. Use the selection menu at the lower-right corner to select a different value of the probability. Changing the probability necessarily resets the graph.
