Karl Freedman, J.D.
Lead Course Development Services Manager
Karl brings more than 20 years of experience as an educator to Cengage Learning.  Karl most recently directed curriculum operations for Ashworth College/PCDI, and in that capacity he wrote many distance learning courses.  Karl also holds a law degree. 

Valerie Anwari, M. Ed.
Sr. Course Development Services Manager
Valerie has over 5 years of experience working on curriculum in Health, Careers, Math and Science.  Prior to that , Valerie spent 8 years in sales and sales management in higher education focusing on Career Colleges.  Valerie has a Masters degree in Education, Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology.

Elizabeth Sugg, MPH
Sr. Course Development Services Manager

Elizabeth has worked as a Cengage Learning Course Development Services Manager for the past 5 years.  Previously, Elizabeth was an Executive Editor in Career, Health Education and Technology.  Elizabeth has a background in instructional design and 23 years of experience publishing products related to vocational and corporate training.

Deborah Hoffman
Course Development Services Manager
Debbie's focus is Business, Paralegal, Fire and Emergency Management.  For the past 6 years, Debbie has run her own publishing services business.  Prior to that, Debbie was both an Executive Editor and Executive Marketing Manager for Accounting and Computer Information Systems.

Worth Hawes, PhD
Course Development Services Manager
Worth manages curriculum projects for Humanities, General Education, and Social Sciences. With over 10 years of publishing experience, Worth served in a variety of roles, most recently as Editor and Marketing Manager for the Wadsworth Philosophy & Religion lists and earlier as a business and innovation strategist for Harcourt College Publishers.

Cindy Miller, MSM
Course Development Services Manager
Cindy worked as a computer programmer before moving into technology education. She was both a faculty member and CIS program chair at Ivy Tech Community College in Lafayette, IN.  After a move to South Carolina, Cindy joined Course Technology as a Curriculum Manager.

Natalie Skadra, MA
Instructional Designer
Natalie spent eight years as a senior instructional designer at Cardean Learning Group, the course development provider for Ellis University, an online university. Her instructional design experience includes online and ILT in both higher education and professional skills. Natalie has taught English as a Second Language and Freshman Writing at colleges and universities in Chicago, Rockford, IL, and in Seoul, Korea.
